| Eastern
Zones Dojo was established in November of 2001 by Sensei Aram Goes. The
dojo operates out of the Nuhaka School Hall with polished timber floors,
including training equipment, toilets and shower facilities. We are a non-profit
community group supporting local initiatives and developments. The club
is in its formative years and has a strong base of dedicated young students,
well supported by their parents and local community.

Sensei
Aram started his Karate in the King Country at Otorohanga College in 1985
at the age of 12. He trained under the watchful eye of his Sensei, Tahi
Parata and was a mainstay of the Waikato Central Dojo. During these 17
years Aram was also fortunate to experience expert tuition from other
respected instructors including Branch Chief Shihan Stephen Takiwa, Shihans
Rob Begbie and Kevin Pepperell, and Sensei Garry Clarke to mention a few.
Aram has also trained in other martial art disciplines including two years
boxing (Waikato Boxing Association) and 18 months Kong Chang (Singapore
Unarmed Self-Defence School). Aram now resides on the Mahia Peninsula
and the development gained from his instruction and his Sensei's on-going
support has seen the establishment of the Eastern Zones Karate Club in
November of 2001.
